Bad things are happening in Stormwind – and beyond.

The Hand of Lothar, they call themselves.

Yva Darrows was their first target.

Tirith and Aely were their second and third.

They have since… expanded their reach and escalated their methods …

(Based on Irving Berlin’s “There’s No Business Like Show Business” from Annie Get Your Gun)

ssc

The gear up, the strat page, the potions, the buffs
The easy boss that lifts you when you’re down
The wiping, the face pulls, the misclicks, the roughs
The realm crash that sends you back to town.

The first pull when your heart beats like a drum
The canceling when regulars won’t come

There’s no business like raid business
Like no business I know
Everything about it is appealing
Everything your ISP lets through
No where could you have that panicked feeling
When the tank DC’s and mobs run straight at you.

There’s no people like raid people
They grumble regardless of the fight
Yesterday they told you you would not go far
That night you subbed in and there you are
Now here on your new gear the enchantments are,
Let’s go on with the raid

The warriors, the pallies, the mages, the priest
The leaders that get raiders to log on
The discoes, the addons, the trash pulls, the sheeps
Your busted gear with each plate pasted on

The CC and the runbacks and the drag
The potions you lifted from the leader’s bag

There’s no business like raid business
If you tell me it’s so
Exploring through progression is so thrilling
Standing out in front while learning fights
Grumbling as you watch the raid bank filling
With all the shards you wish hadn’t dropped that night

There’s no people like raid people
They /afk when things go slow
Even with a new guy that you know will fold
You may be stranded out in the cold
Still you’ll take a chance to win that sack o’ gold
Let’s go on with the raid

seriously, that just rocks! I wish I could come up with something like that!

  2. OMG…music I know!!! I can only echo what Softi said (although, I’d suggest it swings rather than rocks). ;)

So I suppose now would be a good time to mention that I went to college to study music history, particularly jazz (and with a good bit of time spent on American musical theater?)

    Glad you guys enjoyed it!

  5. I seriously love these filks that you do, and in my head I hear Ethel Merman singing it. XD I’m thinking that when we down Vashj, I’ll sing this over Vent. >.>

  6. I’d sing it with you, if we could figure out a way to work it.

This has been stuck in my head all weekend!
