We interrupt this blog…
with an important part of real life.
Spaceship husband and I received a mandatory evacuation notice for Hurricane Ike. We live very close to the water, and they’re expecting a very large storm surge. We’re leaving shortly, heading north to stay with my parents in North Texas. Think good thoughts for us and our kitties, and for everyone in the Texas Coast who will be dealing with this storm. Hopefully I will be returning home on Sunday or Monday – but officially not sure on anything yet.
I’ll try to keep posted here, either myself or through Tarquin.
Good luck guys, good luck raiding this week TRI – and, as always, may the Loot Fu be with you. I’ll see you on the other side of Ike.

You know…. AR isn’t really that far away if you wanted to come visit.
I mean since you have to evacuate anyway.
Good luck!
Light be with you!

Miss you already, hope you’re safe and well and everything goes as planned.
Thought of you this morning and asked if we’d heard anything; of course the BA chat early-risers clued me in (thanks, Leafy!).
Good to know you’ll be safe; hope the storm surge is < than expected!

Hey, drive carefully. Safe as we are in Austin, we’re hosting some friends from Houston who are in the same boat. (He’s even probably a ‘spaceship husband’ like yours.
) Our house is about to fill up with four guests, a baby boy, and their two dogs. It’s going to be odd and crazy, but probably wonderful.
Here’s hoping that Ike is a total wuss, and you all go home to safe and sound homes very soon.
Best wishes,
~Rhoelyn

Yay! I get to see you this weekend! =)
<– is the best friend from 7 years who plays on a different server and is ecstatic that I get to see you twice in 2 months! Whees!
If power stays out long term, Anna and Spaceship husband may have to piggyback on our internet connection so you guys can have your daily dose of Anna. =)
Everyone else in Ike’s path … stay safe!
I just got an update from Anna! She and Spaceship Husband are safe but she can’t load her blog from there. She intends to stay where she is until the power is back on at home. She doesn’t know how long that will be though. Much <3 to the Anna!

Update from Anna …

What we know: The power is out. The water is out. THe power company is saying 2-3 weeks before the power is back, but we won’t know for sure until later.
We’re likely OK, as the water did not come up more than about 15-20 feet in our area, and we’re on the second floor of a heavy brick/concrete apartment, and the ground floor is 8 feet above sea level. Karl’s car may or may not have survived. Our only concern is the three unprotected windows (not on balconies/porches) – so we may have water damage, but wont’ know for sure until we get back.
Much love, and thanks for all your prayers and well wishes,
Anna
Wasn’t the grand plan to leave the car as a sacrifice to the elements?
@Belphzooka: more that the car isn’t worth the gas it would take to drive it to Ft. Worth… but it *does* technically still drive in a straight line. so not losing it is better than losing it
To everyone – thank you so much for all of your good thoughts and wishes! I’m working up an update to put up on the front page in the interim (I’m at Niyahti’s house right now, stealing her internets!).
Much <3 to all of you.
