It didn’t take long to get from Thunder Bluff to the Echo Isles – Ankona took advantage of a wyvern so she could think and plan before getting to her destination. She had information to confirm with the spirits – was Gromnor dead? Was he really in the northern part of the Eastern Kingdoms, somewhere […]

The Grumpies?

I’m not sure if it’s the wrong time of year, stress, the moon, some weird astrological coincidence, or just the fact that it’s Wednesday in the first week of May, but it seems like everyone is grumpy lately.

People are being nasty to everyone else in comments (not so much here though), the forums seem to have descended to a new level of vituperative angst, and right now I’m sitting on no fewer than three different (half finished) posts that have nothing in common other than me ranting about something that’s pissing me off.

Really, that surprises me. I’m usually a happy gamer. I like Warcraft. I like to play the game, fish up random junk with various characters, /kiss Mojo, and hang out with friends. I enjoy doing new things with TRI and doing old things in a new way with my alts. I like posts like Bell’s, thanking other people about what they do, and how they spawn huge post-limit-extended posts on the general forum.

And yet, I just can’t shake the fact that recently when I log in I end up really upset with someone/something (though I’m pretty sure recently it’s related to cat barf at 5am and a nastygram from the internet company about something that’s their fault). And it doesn’t seem like I’m the only one, or that it’s just an in game thing.

So what gives? /puzzled

  1. Well, it’s tax season, so if you know anyone else who works in payment processing that’d do it. I would like my office to explode, or possibly be invaded by giant lobsters.

But then again, I’ve been floating in a whiskey-scented haze all week, so I’m alright.

  2. Perhaps It has something to do with the weather. At least in my neck of the woods (wisconsin) it has been alternating back and forth between cold and gloomy to warm and rainy on a daily basis.

Transitioning from winter to summer gets me in a bit of a funk I know. I am so ready for it to just get warm and stay that way.

I think I will try the whiskey scented haze for the weekend though…….

  3. “possibly be invaded by giant lobsters.”

You should talk to Lunauviel/Athorius. She’s got a giant crab named Crisolin; I hear he might be open to some freelance work…

  4. I’m seconding the “this time of year” sentiment. I am also very crabbed lately, but inspired by Bell I decided to write about something else too. *hugs*

  5. Now I’m worried. Everyone’s being nice to me.

What am I doing wrong? 🙂

  6. @ Leafshine Perhaps they are secretly plotting against you…. or maybe they are just more cheerful where you are.

Bring doughnuts to work, if people don’t eat them they feel guilty….or they are just on a diet.

Either that or just enjoy the cheerful people (but still bring doughnuts 😛 )
