Bad things are happening in Stormwind – and beyond.

The Hand of Lothar, they call themselves.

Yva Darrows was their first target.

Tirith and Aely were their second and third.

They have since… expanded their reach and escalated their methods …

  • With so much else going on, I’ve not been WoWing as much as usual, but I think that’s to be expected!
  • TRI’s clear of 25 man content this week was super exciting – now to start on Sarth +2 (which I fully expect to kick our tails for awhile).
  • I think the new raid goal should be “Cleared all T7 Content before Anna has to move”.
  • New Priest introduction should be sometime this week – she’s working her way through the Borean Tundra right now, with a little gnome mage sidekick.  Shadowpriesting is fun, but running with a mage makes me feel inadequate (his damage is all up front, mine has to hang around before it gets nasty).
  • I want to level my druid as well, and I think some Bind on Account gear is in order, esp. given that Aely doesn’t need her badges anymore.
  • It was really nice to not have lag this week while raiding.  Lag is the suck.
  • Malygos isn’t my favorite fight… but when the DK accidentally Chains of Ice (or whatever it’s called) the Dragon instead of the spark, and Malygos turns around and *the entire raid* except the tank dies… it’s kinda funny.
  • Our eternally-Fire-specced mage is playing with Arcane.  I am the target of his fun Focused Magic buff thing.  <Annas Stamp of Approval>
  • Fishing coins in Dalaran is still annoying.

  1. I healed 25 man Maly for the first time this weekend…

I do not like dragon breath comming out of its butt.

  2. Focused MAgic is awesome… When another mage puts it on my mage (FrostFire Spec) my dps makes a huge jump… seeing 3-4 10k+ crits in a row is fun :P

We thought that too… then we 2-shot the encounter on our first scheduled night of trying. Doh.

  4. If you’re starting 2 Drakes, I recommend leaving up Tenebron and Vesperon (that’s the 1st drake and 3rd drake in the order).

It buys you extra time in killing the first drake.

  5. I’m down to four damn gold coins. Still. I will get it done!

Ahh yes, the deadly Dargon Fart ability. We struggled with that as well – in fact, at one point, all 6 healers died to one great Dargon Fart. It definitely takes some getting used to.

  7. @ Anglachel – It’s pretty hawt for a holy pally as well, given that without the Focused Magic buff, but with my other raid buffs, I’ve got around 45% crit rate. It makes me a happy pally!

*cheers you on* – I’m still less than halfway done, only have a handful of the gold coins, and only about half of the silvers and coppers.

  9. Pill’s about 1/2 through the coins, just from the one night she was there. Of course, I only stayed out there that long becuase of emote RP.

How exactly did you guys deal with unpredicable dragon breath?

  10. @Itanya Blade:

Basically, we called all healers on the tank for the first GCD or two post Vortex; we had Tarq calling out where the spark was (we all run to the spark, Tank runs away from the spark); and when we hit the ground everyone runs like hell.

With 7 healers, that’s enough instant heals to keep the tank up for 1.5 – 3 seconds while we got the hell out of Dodge (Dodge being Anywhere Near the Dargon), and then topped off the raid once we got there. The only thing that was a little shady was making sure that I (and the other tank healers) didn’t run *too far* and end up out of range of the tank.

  11. Darindall is the king of amusing raid wipes.

We didn’t really have much in the way of arcane flatulence to deal with on Malygos. The big issue is remembering that the breath technically comes from his gut, not his head, so it’s easy for people to stray into it when they’re focusing on something else. Like Anna said, quick movement and early top-offs were the key.

I think this week we might try moving him relative to puddles. Halton linked a video of it on the TRI boards.

I shouldn’t have ignored the Friday Fivehundred for so long.

  13. Well, considering I was standing at his tail 1/2 the time he “breathed” on me, it was fun…

    Really. Fun

  14. Fishing in Dalaran IS annoying! I only need to get two more gold coins then I am done with the coins altogether, but I just can’t stand it. Between it making me very drowsy and having to deal with all the traffic and people that think they’re so funny by mounting their mammoth and standing in the pool…

Had this just happened to me. And I am the DK. :D
