The morning of the all hands summon to the Blasted Lands, Aely went for a walk. The late fall air was clear and cool, and leaves crunched under their feet in the less-traveled parts of the streets. She and Roger took the long way around Old Town, south through Tanner Circle and down Bulwarks, across […]

  • Aelflaed is level 80, and respecced back to Holy (though the actual IC change hasn’t quite happened yet)
  • It’s funny how a respec changes the attitude of a character, but she’s been reckless, almost to the point of stupid, since she went ret, and it’s wearing on her.  She told Phileas yesterday that she “missed having pretty hands” – something that, since she’s been swinging a greataxe, she’s not had.
  • Annorah is still just shy of 75, but should be more of a focus now that I can finally do other stuff with friends.  I don’t like having marathoned to get to 80 with the paladin, but I got tired of not being able to do things.
  • Storm Peaks and Sholazar basin are both amazing zones – I love the titan lore in Sholazar, and I love how the Vrykul and the titans are all mixed together in Storm Peaks.  Also, I got to feed baby eagles.  And ride on a storm giant’s shoulder!
  • I am SO GLAD I have epic flying skill.  I can’t imagine trying to do Storm Peaks or Icecrown without it.
  • I don’t know how many of my fellow Riders read this blog, but I need to do a little shoutout to all of you for being amazing, supportive, fun people OOC, and some of the best writers I’ve ever met IC.  I’m still a little bit in shock at Aely’s guild tag sometimes – your reputation for RP is well deserved, and I love you guys.
  • I need help with Rirri. I’ve been suggested to build her personality before she even became Forsaken, and then trace that through her becoming a undead, and then becoming a deathknight.  So far, all I know is that she was married, and had at least one kid.  For some reason, I get a “mom” vibe from her.

  1. Being a Forsaken opens you up to a lot of things. You don’t have to remember who or what you were before you were a Forsaken. SOme of them forge their memories from the time they rose.

Pill says she remembers everything. Probably safe to say that she remebers most things. It’s made her irrascable and bitter (and just a bit crazy.) But at the same time, she’s had a lot of time as a Forsaken and that has made an impact on her as well.

There are as many ways to deal with being Forsaken as there are stars in the sky. From Stila who believes that the Forsaken are just sick to Mallek who believe he has to shed all traces of his humanity.

Did Rirri sign the guild charter yet, you slacker?

About Aely, She should ask Dorri what she does to keep her hands pretty… Then again, Dorri would probably try and gut her depending on the circumstances.

  2. @Itanya Blade:

Sign guild charter? *what* guild charter? she’s currently hanging out in Supercow to avoid random /ginvites.

And that’s a fair idea, but for the gutting business.

  3. Depending on who you ask, Dorri’s a vicious little homocidal maniac or just irritable.

Keltyr might be a little biased, however.

And we’ve started a DK guild, but at last check we still needed some signatures. As I said in Gtalk, you have my permission to light Jhozan or Des on fire. You can choose which one.

  4. I’ve always found an effective way of roleplaying an Undead is to take the qualities they had in life, and either reverse them or take them to their absolute extreme.

i.e. if the character had a hobby in life, it could have transformed into an overriding obsession.

Or if the character was a Holy Paladin in life, dedicated to bringing the light and truth to all, that same character could be warped into something that desires to extinguish light wherever it may be found.

Whether that is literal or metaphorical is up to you.
