Every Tuesday morning we get this little forced break, of sorts, while Blizzard cleans the hamster cages*. The game is down; the servers are down; the forums are probably down (if not, they’re slower than molasses in January); the armory is down. Ok, well the armory is down a lot more often than just Tuesdays, but you get the drift.
Because I usually work afternoons, my mornings are spent taking care of various other things around the apartment and keeping up with the Blog Azeroth folks. So maintenance doesn’t really mean much for me, other than having more people than usual in the Feathermoon IRC channel and the BlogAzeroth chat room, and maybe getting ahead on the blog posts for the week.
I was wondering though – does the weekly maintenance really have much of an effect on you? Sometimes if it runs long and I happen to have the day off, it’s a bit annoying, but I don’t find that it cramps my style too much. Do you have things that you do or don’t do on Tuesday mornings because of the server outage?
Oh – and in case you were wondering… your characters are probably out, enjoying the party.
*since obviously it’s a bunch of hamsters running on squeaky wheels that run the authentication servers lately.
