Gearing up the Anna-tard*
Angoleth has been 70 for a little bit now, wearing AH greens and random quest rewards, and slowly plodding along working on her leatherworking skill. Sadly, trying to get a bunch of instance runs together for your (undergeared) huntard alt when you have two other characters already keyed for Karazhan proved to be rather difficult. I snuck into Shadow Lab after a friend cleared the place out to get that fragment but hadn’t made any progress on the other two.
Yesterday, however, a friend was putting together a “Kara Badge PUG” (which wasn’t really a PUG, but certainly not a regular instance group) and since most people couldn’t come for an hour or so, he scrambled together a group and we blasted our way to the Steamvaults and Arcatraz key fragments. 30 odd minutes killing Dragons in the swamp later, and Angoleth became the proud owner of a Karazhan key…
Only to walk into her first Karazhan *run* about 10 minutes after that!
As I’ve mentioned in the Totally WTF posts, it’s often good to bring a loot-sponge with you when you go on a badge run, since with high level gear, Karazhan can be 9.5 manned and you’ll gear up your newer players pretty quickly that way. We had two – myself and a tree-druid (who also went with us to the Black Morass run for her key).![]()
While our druid definitely got the lions share of the loot (yay gearing up healers!), I got new gloves, bracers, and two pair of boots (one with more +hit, one with more AGI), almost enough rep to get to honored with the violet eye, and enough other gear to switch chestpieces to the ol’ Laughing Skull Battle Harness. I also ticked over enough honor to pick up the Gladiator’s shoulders. HUGE AGI upgrades (finally broke 700 AGI), great for little survival hunters like me, and a lot of other stats as well.
Meaning Angoleth is, essentially, a whole new hunter! Next up on the list is weaponry, for sure. Not that I don’t love my Core Hound Tooth, but seriously people…
*As most of my characters are An/Anna somethings, they are differentiated by class in the TRI chat channel, particularly if they are not Annorah. Annapriest, Annadin, Annafruif/Annaclaws, Annastab, etc. Yesterday “Annahunter” became “Annatard”, when they realized I’d been 70 for a few weeks but hadn’t managed to get keyed for Karazhan.

gratz on the gearing up
My hunter is still in her greens and quest rewards too. I just can’t bring myself to play her for more than a couple of dailies at the moment >_<
Ha! I have a hunter that’s been 70 for about 9 months, and he still doesn’t have a Kara key!
