Vonya, the fabulous Egotistical Priest, has written up a fantastic overview/guide to Meatballs.  Er…  Earthshields, that is.

I think the only thing she says that I disagree with is that the change from 10 charges at higher mana to 6 charges at lower mana was a good trade off… but then I was spoiled by the old 10 charge earthshield.  It really was a lot nicer for PVE fights simply because you didn’t have to re-cast it all the time.  All.  The.  Time.

But!  Much like spaghetti and meatballs, chain heals and earthshields are ultimately awesome, and you should read her post.
