The respec was actually more geared towards instancing – there are a lot of capable, specced healers in my group of friends, and we can’t all go as healers all the time. Soloing as Resto isn’t bad, nor is duo-ing (since Annorah always has her friendly pocket prot pally around), but trying to DPS in an instance with a full on Resto spec was annoying and ineffective.

Oh no! not DPS! LOL!, it does make it easier, but I will have to admit that running 10/51 Resto isn't too bad at all if you have some DPS gear. Granted it might take one or two more bolts to kill something it hasn't killed my ability to solo too bad. I will have to admit that when I went DPS I also learned that I love healing...alot. I’m with Grizz, thunderstorm is so much fun! I’ve respecced fully into elemental for levelling and so far I’ve not had any trouble healing instances – the highest one I’ve done so far is Gundrak (at about level 75), though.

I echo the feeling of it being weird not healing in instances, though – I’m looking forward to getting back to my little healing comfort zone

Elemental focus is to very much awesome. If, by some odd chance, you decide to give full elemental a try... make sure to pick up Thunderstorm. Despite what you might hear about it, I think it's a really awesome spell. There's just something fun about making stuff fly away from you, then throwing lightning in its face.
