Bad things are happening in Stormwind – and beyond.

The Hand of Lothar, they call themselves.

Yva Darrows was their first target.

Tirith and Aely were their second and third.

They have since… expanded their reach and escalated their methods …

I’m back, at least for a week, and then I’ll be off into the great vast realms of AFK-land again.  Here’s a bit about what’s been going on.

  • Annie Mae is 77, and beginning her work for the Argent Crusade. While I don’t intend to have her go for the Crusader title, I do intend to make her some cash and finish out her major city reputations.
  • Annylais is 64, working on 65, and hanging out with the Cenarion Expedition in Zangarmarsh. She is currently specced feral, and I’m liking it quite a lot. Particularly pounce and feral charge-cat, which have the best animations ever.
  • Aely is splitting her time between Icecrown (when she’s on duty) and Stormwind (when she’s not). She’s moved out of her little apartment in Old Town temporarily, as the political climate there has been bad enough that she was affecting the business at the Silver Shield.  She’s currently living over in the Mage District. (And no, she’s not as disappointed about that as she could have been…)
  • Plotbunnies!  They are many and multiplying.  Keep an eye out for some crazy stuff to start happening!
  • I am considering “reskinning” Anzefi back to Alliance as a dual-class option for Aely.  Part of me would really like to play my priest again with my friends. Part of me says there’s no way Aely would go along with it, as she is a PALADIN dammit, not a priest. Having her dual-class would give me the ability to play her more in situations where I don’t really like being a holy paladin (like heroics), and would let me RP with her more while having the opportunity to play more than one class. Suggestions/ideas wanted.
  • (Please to not have those suggestions be “BUT ZOMG ANZEFI ROCKS” or something of that nature.  There are a number of reasons that I can’t really be playing hordeside right now that I’d rather not discuss, but trust me to say that I’m not considering this lightly. I really like Anzefi’s character a LOT, and don’t want to lose it either.)

A reminder that if you’ve got ideas, I would love to have a guest post from you for next week when I’ll be gone again! You can email me at toomanyannasATgmailDOTcom if you want some help turning a vague something into a post to show here – and, of course, if you’ve got a blog, I’ll be linking back to it!

  1. The last time I considered reskinning* a character to make a dual-class option for another character, I decided to just level onw from scratch. There were two reasons for this.

First, I didn’t want to lose the character I was considering reskinning. I’m not currently playing her, but she’s there, waiting for the time when I feel like picking her back up.

Second, one of the things I wanted to explore with the dual-class character was the set of contradictory feelings she had about the addition of her new class. Sorcha was just as resistant to studying for the priesthood as you describe Aely as being, and it made for some darned good RP.

And truth be told, it just doesn’t take that long to level a character these days. So that’s an option if you decide you don’t want to let go of Anzefi.

  2. @Nahyomi – Unfortunately, to level a new character, I would be forced to delete one. Honestly, I can see Anaje getting booted, and I have a little dwarf hunter as well, but I’m still in the process of leveling up Annie (77), Angoleth (71) and Annylais (64), and so adding in another class to level, when at this point I’m struggling to finish three others and really want a character that I can play at 80 with my friends… well, it’s not all that appealing.

  3. Honestly, I think you should go for it. You could, hypothetically, RP it as something other than a “priest.” She’s been getting a few lessons from Yva, right? So she’s working on some other forms of magic. And shadow (or argane that looks like shadow–I’m not aware if Anna was specifically avoiding shadow) is difficult to channel in plate, so if she wants to practice, she’s got to wear cloth. But she can still use her holy magic, so she can still heal. So…she’s just a pally in cloth with some other side magic. Would she agree to -that-?

I may be a bit biased in liking having you around A-side, admittedly. But if you keep Anzefi in mind, I’m sure you’ll find a way to bring her around again.

  4. Oh, I feel your pain. When WotLK was about to drop, I made the decision to stop playing on Hyjal and Perenolde, and play only on Feathermoon. I had characters I loved on the other servers, so I started moving them — and ran smack into the character allotment issue.

What I did was to get a second account and store the characters I love but am not playing right this second there. Then I let it lapse. I can move characters between the accounts, so when my interest levels change, I just put them where I can play them. And I always have the option of making both accounts active if I decide that would be appropriate.

For example, I just moved Sorcha (and Sorcha) off the sleeping account and onto the active account. Look around town and you may see her (them) from time to time.

As to the leveling another character issue, that’s a most likely the deciding factor here. For me, with the second Sorcha, the RP of her struggling with the disciplines of the priesthood and her weakness with those skills in comparison to her endgame skilled and geared druid skills was really fun; of course, it helped that I had friends who were interested in RPing all that with me.

However, if you’re looking for an endgame character, you should probably go for the reskinning.

  5. This is not a “ZOMG Trolls are hot post”

It is a sniffle and wave.
