Pretty similiar to what the others here have said :) I've always got a variety of in-game goals at any one time so if one thing starts to pall there is always another angle for me to pick up. I love raiding on Jez, although I admit to being a little burnt out on that lately.

I'm still hoping one day to get the Justicar title and love doing battlegrounds with a little group of regular pvpers in my time zone. I've got a lil warlock Synestre who's mid 40s right now and am currently loving my even littler gnome rogue Tippy who has just hit 16.

I've also recently developed a slight obsession with achievements on Jez and am having fun competing with the other 'cheevhoars' in my guild for the most points (I have a long way to go!). Then there is the farming side of things which is great for those times when I just want to fly in circles.

So there is always something that keeps me engaged. I've lately been feeling the compulsion to roll a tauren or troll character as well but haven't given into it yet.

"I guess overall I’d have to say my carrot is the variety, the many different ways the game can be enjoyed, and the freedom to choose what I want to do, when I want to do it."

^--Says it all for me
Alt also really help. Like Sarai said, if one toon gets boring, hopping on another is all it takes. And being somewhat new to the whole RP thing, hanging with the Riders on Windstar has been more like a big bowl my favorite of ice cream, with sprinkles.

Funny thing? I've been thinking of making my own blog post on this subject :D

RP baby.

Also, Linedan sucks for RPing so much on Beltar. More Linedan looming, imo.

Right now there are several things. If I've had a hard day, or I'm just feeling worn down, I do laps around Icecrown on my paladin, farming ore. If I'm feeling like a challenge, I'll corral the hubby into running dungeons for low-droprate mounts, like Anzu or Baron's horse. If I feel like I need new perspective, I'll log on one of my alts, or make a new one.

I think this is why I have so many alts. When I get bored with one, I usually just hop on another and it gets fun all over again. My current carrot is logging on Shaurria and seeing what kind of trouble she can get into, or working on getting Arvoss to 80. Or duoing my hunters. Or working on achievements. Or... you get the idea.
