It didn’t take long to get from Thunder Bluff to the Echo Isles – Ankona took advantage of a wyvern so she could think and plan before getting to her destination. She had information to confirm with the spirits – was Gromnor dead? Was he really in the northern part of the Eastern Kingdoms, somewhere […]

Introduce Your Pandaren

What kind of Pandaren are you planning on playing? Will you be rolling a monk, or some other class? Have you thought at all about an RP idea or a character basis for that character?

I’m kicking around the idea of a little old lady Pandaren – nosy, busybodyish, and constantly peddling all kinds of (probably disturbing) folk remedies. I have this image in my head of her wandering around with a big jar of 4 Thieves Vinegar with a dead bird foot in it, forcing it on anyone that even hints at getting sick.

I haven’t decided what class she’ll be (which probably means she’ll be one of the multitude of Pandaren Monks come Mists release). But I like the idea of having a slightly… unorthodox character, and that concept won’t require that she have any semblance of quick leveling to be successful in RP. In fact, it’ll be fun to do low level pick up RP with her. She’d peddle those remedies all through Stormwind (or whatever the major city of the next expansion turns out to be).

I’d love to hear what your Pandaren character concepts are though – brag on them (or just brainstorm ideas) in comments!

  1. My Pandaren will probably be a monk; I’ll definitely be rolling a Night Elf monk. Love the class, perhaps more than my Enhancement Shaman. As for the Pandaren race . . . well, the starting area is the best ever, and Pandaria is a gorgeous, gorgeous meta-zone.

But Pandarens? I think I became less thrilled when I saw the dances. I would have appreciated something oriental/Asian; not a fan of the new ones. However, yaks as mounts (if that’s what actually happens) are appealing. And flying serpent mounts? OH YEAH BABY! 😉

  2. >>Steve: I’ve stayed away from the beta, so it will all be new to me. I’ve heard good things though, and I’m excited to try the monk thing. Thats how I ended up with Annorah too, after all (and she was an enhancement shaman for a long time!)

  3. Sorry, playing catch up on all your postings today! And can’t believe I don’t have you on my blog roll — changing that.

I have a name settled for my panda – Batai – but other than that, no ideas. One of my friends has already started some cool-sounding concepts for his Panda monk. My main character is a Spirit-Walker shaman so she has a strong connection to ancestors, etc [which apparently will be AWESOME to RP in Pandaland!] and he’s already planning how just meeting my character will be an “omigosh there’s a Spirit-person!!” moment for his monk.

  4. @ Five4ths: ooh. That sounds like a lot of fun! I do the same kind of RP with my shaman, but I’ve not explored pandaria yet, so that might be a fun hook for her (shes a draenei). She would probably boot my Pandaren though. Anzin is… an odd bear. I don’t usually have my characters meet each other though – that could be a fun exercise!
