Thank you everyone for the kind words. You guys have no idea how much winning this meant (and still means) to me.

I’m dropping a comment after all this time to let everyone know that Femmlin has been rerolled as a mage on the Steamwheedle Cartel – US roleplay server. It was a decision based on her character evolution. (So any Femmlin that may crop up on Wyrmrest Accord in the future will not be the one who wrote this!)

That was WICKED.

I love stories like this one. This takes a quest which fills only the tiniest niche of time in-game and adds so many new dimensions to it that it becomes an unforgettable piece of a character’s overall history.

The language use and tone were excellent, along with the imagery they made for an excellent story. Tying back in to the archmage’s words at the end was a great way to end the story, and it leaves the reader wondering how Gretchen will end up. I remember this quest from the time I made a Forsaken character, and it says a lot about the character of the Forsaken. This piece really does deserve first place, excellent job Femmlin!

Congratulations Femmlin! This was a truly awesome story. I love the way you use language- the cadence is very good and sets the tone extremely well.
