   Aelly or Aelli. It’s how I’ve always said it in my head whenever you spell it out since annunciation was never my strongsuit.

   @Stop:

   If she weren’t over six feet tall and fiery redheaded, she could get away as Elfy. But there’s not much Elfy about her. The name is an anglo saxon one meaning Elf Flower (Aelf Fleod). So you’re not far off

   I think I’d probably end up calling someone with that mouthful of a monicker “Flay”.

   “Flay, come take a look at this?”

   “What do you think, Flay, should we kill the orc or the troll first?”

   Aely is what’s I’d do.

    I like Flay as well … granted, since Alianna quickly became Ally or Ah-lee it’s already taken in my mind. =)

    I think I’m going to stick with Aely for the time being - which is something of a combination of about four suggestions… though I’m told that if she earns herself the nickname “Lucky”, she gets to keep it.

    In my mind, Aelflaed shortens easily into Ally. I think that’s what I’d call her if she were a friend or something.
