Playing with the Big Boys now

Posted on August 1, 2008 - Filed Under Raiding

So, in the absence of a normal healer group and some last minute flakiness, TRI decided (on a whim, 5 minutes before raid start) to hike east, instead of north, out of Shattrath on Friday night, and poke around in what used to be the Temple of Karabor before the orcs trashed it and Illidan moved in.

Thanks to quick thinking, some perseverance, the occasional battlerez, and the usual doses of hilarity, Totally Raids is now 6/6, 3/4/ 4/5, and 2/9. (eat that, Supremus)

Some amusing moments from the evening:

Someone: “Hey, so is this the entra…”DOOMWALKER ENGAGED: 30 SECONDS TO EARTHQUAKE”.

Druid tank, on the way in: “So, this looks strangely like a sewer.  Where exactly are we going again?”

RL: “Don’t drink the water guys!”
Mage: “But it’s so tasty!  And I can see the music now!”

Rogue: “I’m not sure what that thing was he was casting.  I figure anything that starts with “summon” is something I should kick.”

* and yes, the song Playing with the Big Boys Now (from Disney’s Prince of Egypt) was in my head for most of the end of the evening.

Grats Anna! Sounds like your raids are a lot of fun :D

We finally found a replacement healer and after some nasty messy fun with Anetheron took down Khaz and Az but ran out of time to try Archi. Next week I say, NEXT WEEK!!

[...] for all the bosses. Sometimes it has to be done on short notice and it’s nice to know I’m not the only one in the game that has to to pull off a hail Mary. Unfortunately, I don’t get much say in who stays or who goes. I can’t pick my lineup [...]

LOL Too funny, I love the snippets of conversation that go on during raids like this. :)

I also just heard your interview on Twisted Nether - there was some really interesting stuff that was being said about roleplaying, I’m now inspired to start a roleplaying toon. I loved the comment about how your priest is near sighted and takes her glasses off at the mailbox - this was a great example for me but I thought it was also a great touch, showing the depth of the character with such little things.

I also liked hearing you talk about situational awareness for healers. I’d never heard it talked about that specifically and it was great to hear.

    Grats!

Makes me wish I was in a more progressed raiding guild and not in a server where progression happens mostly on alliance and or horde side guilds aren’t too EST time friendly.

btw it was great hearing you in the podcasts
tnx very much and I know want to start my own shammy blog.
