Side-Door Friends

When someone new comes to visit, someone you’re not familiar with or who doesn’t know you very well, they come up the front steps and ring the bell - and you let them in the front door.  After awhile, though, some people become good enough friends that they don’t have to come and ring the bell every time.  They’ll stop by, just because, and knock on the side door - sometimes even have their own key.  These “side-door friends” are people you trust in your home and with your family, people whose advice you take seriously and whose opinions matter to you.

So what does that have to do with anything?

Well, I’m inviting you all to be side-door friends of Too Many Annas - at least for a little while (some of you can stay though, as long as you wipe your feet!).

I’ve been writing things here since March of last year, with very little actual change to the site design, layout, or content.  Sure I’ve added a twitter widget here, or changed a blogroll link there, but for the most part, things around here have been pretty consistent.  And I’m not sure if it’s because of the season change, the fact that I’ve been Fall Cleaning, or some of the other major changes around here in Real Life-ville, but I’ve been wondering about this little corner of the internet.

So I’m asking you, if you were a side-door friend, and you stopped by one sunny fall afternoon to chat (we’ll make it a Tuesday, so that WoW is on maintenance), what would you suggest?  What would you, as a reader and friend, want to see here in this webspace?  What kind of changes would you make, content or design or otherwise?  (Feel free to use the Contact Me form if you’d rather not leave an open comment!)

There tend to be three things I like to see in WoW blogs:

    1) I like little RP vignettes. Tiny stories, character diary entries, brief IC thoughts… Those things are a delight to read.

    2) I like player opinions and insights on their class(es). I always find it interesting how different people play their role.

    3) I like interesting/amusing OOC stories. Whether it be a tale about a really agitating griefer or about that guy who missed the jump in Wailing Caverns six times in a row.

I should probably take my own advice and actually start posting to my blog… >.>

    Hey Anna(s),

Love the site. Longtime ninja reader, but infrequent poster.
I guess it’s the corporate lackey in me, but I like structure, consistency, and stability.

I know I will find the Friday Five posted and, though I’m no RPer, I find comfort in knowing it will be there.

I would love to hear more about your experiences as you level your alts. I’m growing a Resto Shammy and rely heavily on the “…Genious as you level” posts.

Thanks for the side door invite. Oh, and one more thing; For The Horde!!
